RUBBER STAMPING
PLEAE BE ADVISED THIS IS AN OUTDATED PAGE-- THE UPDATED PAGE IS HERE
To be honest, before I got into rubber stamping I kind of thought it was hokey. Then I started looking around the net and found such incredible stamps that I was totally blown away.
Now I am TOTALLY addicted!! I think this happens to everyone who finally discovers the awesome variety of stamps and the amazing results that one can achieve.
It is quite easy to want to hock your jewerly and take a second mortgage out on your house just to buy more stamps!!;) It can be a very expensive hobby, but well worth it if you do alot of creative things
My suggestion is to start off small with a few ink pads and some versatile stamps like butterflies, angels, flowers, and then move into different areas as you get the techniques down and figure out what kind of style you want to do.
Stamps come mounted and unmounted- the unmounted stamps are alot less expensive. You have to mount them but that really isnt a big deal. ALWAYS make sure the stamps you purchase are copyright free and that you can use them to make items for sale. Not that I sell my things, but you never know what may lie down the road and you dont want to have any problems.
EBAY is a good place to find stamps somewhat less expensive. I have found some good deals there so you might want to look around there too.
