Artistamp Info

These are basically artisic postage stamps which can actually be glued on envelopes and sent through the mail, however they DONT replace regular postage. There are several different references to these little works of art-- Postoids, Faux Stamps, and Cinderellas to name a few. Artistamps also kind of function like regular stamps in that the designers create their own postoffce and postal country. There are some really creative names and actual stories that go with these references. I chose LAVENDER POST for the name of my post office and RAINBOW REALM as my postal country !!

I have learned to make mine in Paint Shop Pro.

There are basically few supplies one needs to create the stamps. You can order perforation scissors to make the edges look like real stamps and as far as printing I just use regular paper although the stamps do look really good on photo printing paper too.

Anything can be a subject and they can be any size or price. I have received stamps that are huge and then I have received stamps that are regular stamp size or smaller. It's bascially whatever one wants to create.

There are some highly creative artists out there who are alot of fun and are more than willing to help anyone who is new to this little mail art form so dont hesitate-- Try your hand at it. Get Paint Shop Pro and go to town!
